Feel it forever is a celebration of 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ in Nelson Mandela Bay. It is an ode to the people, a salute to the hard work of everyone whow made it happen, from the Final Draw, where South Africa was chosen as host to the 2010 World Cup, right up to the closing ceremony on 11 July 2010.

From the colourful and crazy fans, to the gracious hosts who showed the world why we are called The Friendly City and helped put Nelson Mandela Bay on the map, Feel it forever is a book about an event that was full of feeling.

The title is a continuation of the Feel it in the air campaign that began in Nelson Mandela Bay, spread to the Eastern Cape, and part of which – “Feel it” – even went national, when the SABC used the phrase to drive awareness of the forthcoming sporting spectacular. Nelson Mandela Bay will “feel it” for a long time to come; the SA flag mirror-socks can still be spotted even now – a year later – and the infrastructural legacies are testaments to the value of this event to the city.

This beautiful, full-colour, hard-cover, coffee-table book is a commemorative item that invites you to Feel it forever.

Nelson Mandela Bay – a brand new day, is a glossy showcase of the very best of Port Elizabeth, Uitenhage and Despatch. Featuring stunning full page and double page photographic spreads by some of the Bay's leading photographers and packed with informative editorial and quirky facts – the book offers all that there is to know about Nelson Mandela Bay.

It is the first hardcover coffee table book on Nelson Mandela Bay. Providing a well-researched and comprehensive overview of all aspects of the Bay, the book proves what investors and thousands of annual holidaymakers who flock to the Bay already know – it's a place where things are happening.

What makes Nelson Mandela Bay – a brand new day different from other historical and tourist publications about Port Elizabeth is that it packages the whole of Nelson Mandela Bay – as it was, as it is, and as it invests in the future.

While the book covers the Bay's tourist attractions and history (including the previously ignored struggle history), it also looks at the lifestyle and investment opportunities that distinguish Nelson Mandela Bay as an increasingly attractive destination.

Nelson Mandela Bay is a laid-back yet fast-growing family-orientated city. It is known by outsiders as the Friendly City, the Windy City, the Detroit of South Africa and a multitude of other epithets – some less complimentary than others. All these names point to a fascinatingly diverse and multi-faceted city. Thus the various epithets have been given a positive spin and boldly form the titles of appropriate chapters.
